Joey, still a struggling actor, gets a female roommate and begins a relationship with her, only for it to fall apart when she doesn't like Monica and Chandler. Phoebe's apartment catches on fire, leading Phoebe to move in with Chandler and Monica while Rachel lives with Joey. Although she originally intends to move in with Ross, she changes her mind on discovering they're still married and instead moves in with Phoebe. Monica and Chandler decide to live together in Monica's apartment, therefore Rachel is asked to move out. When the judge refuses to give them an annulment due to their past relationship, they are forced to get a divorce instead. After a few weeks Rachel finds out the truth and is furious, and drags him down to the courthouse to sort it out. The two decide to get an annulment, but Ross decides he doesn't want to have three failed marriages behind him and doesn't get one, although he tells Rachel he did. Ross and Rachel are now married, following their drunken wedding ceremony is Las Vegas.
